Collection Items

CollectPC displays the items area when a collection is opened or created. This gives you the ability to view all the items in your collection from one list. You can view full data for each item and you can edit data for any item too. If you can't find the item you're looking for CollectPC includes a search function to help you find it.

To add a new item, simply click the Add New Item button. This will bring up the Add Item screen where you can input data for items, such as:

  • Item Title
  • Description
  • Price Paid
  • Estimated Value
  • Quantity
  • Date Purchased

View Your Collection

Once you have added some or all of your items, you can view the entire collection in three ways.

You can view your collection as a book, where you can open each page to view each item.
You can view it as a list, with all items neatly arranged, and pictures included.
You can view it as a series of slides, with each slide displaying each item.

If you choose to create a website of your collection (detailed below) it will display your collection in the same way.

Report

Want to know the total value of your collection, the highest profit item or the average price paid per item? The reporting area enables you to know the following:

  • Total Item Count
  • Total Price Paid for Collection
  • Average Item Price
  • Total Estimated Value of Collection
  • Average Estimated Item Value

  • Highest Price Paid for Item
  • Highest Estimated Item Value
  • Highest Profit Item
  • Lowest Profit Item

Collection Website

Once you have added all the items to your collection, you can share it with the world via a website. No technical skills are required or complicated procedures needed - Simply click the Create Collection Website button.

You can add a description of your collection, although this is optional.

Then choose a username and enter your email address. These are required so an account can be set-up for you. (No fees will occur).

Your website will automatically be created, and all of the item data and images will be loaded to the website - please note this may take some time depending on your connection speed.

That's it - your website is live. You will be provided with links to your website and instructions on how to use these links. Now you can share your collection with the world!

Back-Up Your Collection

After spending time creating your collection imagine how bad it would feel if it was lost due to your computer failing or being stolen. This risk can be eliminated if you back-up your collection regularly.

There are two options - you can back-up the collection to a folder and save it on a CD-R, USB Memory Stick or a Portable/Removable Hard Drive.

The second method sends your entire collection to our secure computer servers for remote back-up. All you have to do is click the Online Back-up button. Then choose a username and enter your email address. These are required so an account can be set-up for you. (No fees will occur).

Your collection back-up will automatically be created, and all of the data will be sent to our remote servers - please note this may take some time depending on your connection speed.

Importing Collections
If the worst did happen, but you backed-up your collection(s), starting where you left off couldn't be easier. Simply download CollectPC to your new computer, click the New Collection button, and choose the Import option.

Then locate your collection to import it.

If you choose the online back-up option your collection can be download from the main website www.CollectPC.com. Simply click the Sign in button, and enter your username and email address (chosen when you did the back-up). You can then download your collection, and import it to CollectPC.

Sharing Collections
You can share your whole collection simply by doing a back-up to a CD-R, USB Memory Stick or a Portable/Removable Hard Drive - which can then be imported to any other CollectPC program.
